We recently celebrated the opening of the new 75-room expansion at FedExFamilyHouse. The addition delivers on the promise we made when FedExFamilyHouse opened in 2010. We promised we would be a place of hope and healing for out-of-town families of Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital patients. Since then, more than 160,000 family members have called FedExFamilyHouse home while their child is treated at Le Bonheur.
No family should have to worry about housing when their child is critically ill. With this addition, more families will have the opportunity to find respite in a home away from home. Thank you to everyone who helped make this expansion possible.
Our first family - the Harlows of Mississippi - checked into the new addition on Dec. 18. FedExFamilyHouse has been a home-away-from-home for the Harlows for most of their son's life. Three-year-old Uriah received a heart transplant at Le Bonheur 2 years ago. We are so excited that we have more rooms to help families like the Harlows.
No family should have to worry about housing when their child is critically ill. Help us to continue to deliver on the promise we made in 2010. Consider making a gift to help the continued growth of FedExFamilyHouse.
FedExFamilyHouse has 75 rooms/suites available to families while their child is receiving care at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital. Reservations at the house are only made through the patient’s social worker or clinic coordinator. Please contact your social worker or clinic coordinator directly to ask for a referral to the house.
Due to the limited space, we take a few things into account:
