FedExFamilyHouse, a home away from home to out-of-town families of patients at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital, will expand to triple its size by year 2018. A fundraising campaign, “Building on the Promise,” has been launched toraise the $12 million construction cost of expansion.

A quiet remembrance was held at FedExFamilyHouse to unveil a plaque dedicated to Le Bonheur’s fallen Pedi-Flite team members. Carrie Barlow, Denise Adams and Charlie Smith lost their lives when a Hospital Wing helicopter crashed on Oct. 22, 2013, en route to pick up a patient.
All five Memphis Panera Bread locations make sure that families staying at FedExFamilyHouse are well fed by treating them to a monthly dinner. The bakery café located on Union Avenue in Midtown also provides treats of artisan breads, pastries, bagels and cookies every Thursday night.
