FedEx Cares Teams
FedEx Corporation’s employees team up through the FedEx Cares program to support FedExFamilyHouse on a regular basis. They fill ‘purple bags’ with items needed for the family pantries then deliver to the house. The recyclable purple bags are reused; they are filled with toiletries and gifts to give to guests as Welcome Bags at check in. In 2016 FedExFamilyHouse received more than 1,000 purple bags.
Many FedEx Cares teams also cook meals for families, stock the pantry, clean up toys and cubbies or bake cookies in the afternoon. Their presence truly makes the house a home.
FedEx Pilots' Wives Association
FEPWA is a social and charitable organization open to all pilots’ wives, female pilots, retired pilots’ wives and widows of pilots. FEPWA was formed in 1974 to offer a social setting for FedEx pilot wives who share similar situations. At that time there were only a few pilots at the small start-up company. FEPWA provides friendship, understanding and support for women with unique home lives. The group decorates FedExFamilyHouse for Christmas every year with incredible splendor and has provided more than $150,000 in financial support since FedExFamilyHouse opened.
FedEx Corporation Employee Credit Association
The FECCA provides a wide variety of financial services to thousands of members across the U.S. and are quickly emerging as a major donor and volunteer provider to FedExFamilyHouse! We are grateful for their gifts and look forward to long relationship. The FECCA also is a active participant in Credit Unions for Kids or www.cu4kids.org a successful program administered by the Children's Miracle Network of which our hospital, Le Bonheur Children's, is the Memphis-area benefactor.
Panera Bread & BlueRidge Bread Company
This local business provides an end of the day donation every Thursday night. Any loaves of bread, pastries, bagels and bakery items that are not sold that day are put into bins and taken to FedExFamilyHouse. They are then enjoyed by the guests for breakfasts and used to make sandwiches and other meals at the house.
Panera Bread in Germantown also brings a variety of sandwiches, soups, salads, chips, cookies and drinks once a month on a Saturday for the guests to enjoy. They also participated in a fill the stockings event last Christmas.
The Mid-South regional Panera locations also support FedExFamilyHouse through “Change for Children” during the holidays! Customers can round up their bill and the amount goes to support FedExFamilyHouse!
This is a shining example of a local business partner that cares and gives back to their community! Thank You Panera Bread!
FedEx Retiree Club
The Federal Express Retiree Club is an organization sanctioned by Federal Express Corporation for the benefit of its retired employees. The Club provides a means by which its members can receive current information about corporate activities, maintain the pride of identification with FedEx, and maintain a link with the corporation on issues that might affect its members. Many of the members volunteer at FedExFamilyHouse special events.
Two young entrepreneurs who grew up in Memphis and are part of the FedEx family are committed to giving back to their community, even though they live in Atlanta, Georgia.
Sarah and Jenny are passionate about their beautiful gift store in Atlanta and their commitment to FedExFamilyHouse. Each month, like clockwork, a box arrives with luxury items to help pamper the families.
Thanks to their generosity and support, family welcome bags stay full with goodies for stressed-out parents of sick children being treated at Le Bonheur.
